“I’m going by the recording name TUMBLE now, but my friends all know me as Jacob. I’m 19 years old, life has been pretty good so far. I’m still based in the south of England but I’ll be heading back home to Wales once this new song releases. Music is still just about getting me by each month, I’m hoping this rebrand will allow me to continue for the foreseeable future. Since my last interview (read it here), I’ve spent a lot of time converting my dad’s old garage into a personal recording space. It turns out I’ve got a pretty good hand when it comes to D.I.Y. The only issue I’ve been having recently is finding a good split between finishing off my new project and working on the studio…”
Where did you draw inspiration for the making of ‘Give It Time’?
I’m not sure where I drew the majority of my inspiration from, although for the most part, this new project is formed of comparisons between childhood summers and the wide mix of emotions thrown into those periods as time passes by. I also found myself creating fun rhyme schemes to form catchy hooks and verses, much to the similarity of somebody like Still Woozy or The Wallows. During the course of writing tracks for Sunblast, they were my go-to guys.
What’s your favorite song from the EP?
Right now I can’t talk all that much about the tracks that’ll appear on the EP, but there’s a few stand out pop songs to stick in the ear of listeners. There’s also a really beautiful interlude track to round off the project, it’s something I worked really hard on and I hope doesn’t go unnoticed.
What can we expect from you in the near future?
As for the future, I’m not too sure. There’s a music video for ‘Give It Time’ that’s set to release in the next few months. I’m also putting together a CD package that’ll feature lots of cool artwork and unfinished demos that didn’t make the final cut on Sunblast. But for the time being, I’m just focused on getting out this EP and hearing what people have to say about it.
