Nino Extranjero is a 19-years-old bedroom artist from Wales based in Brighton, on the South Coast of England.

“I dropped out of college about 12 months ago and ‘Grazes’ is pretty much what I’ve been working on ever since that point.”, he says.

You’ll usually find him in his room working on a song or putting together some sort of artwork, if not he’ll be out playing with dogs or binge-watching The Good Place, his favorite show at the moment.

I finally told myself “Fuck it, I need to start chasing my own dreams and tell my own stories”

Nino explains where he drew inspiration for the making of this EP: “From three separate projects that I instantly fell in love with. The first being ‘Sebastian’ by Yeek, an album that resonated with me for so many different reasons, I got an instant connection to the emotions he was portraying and I related to the summer stories he was telling.

The second was Natalie Green’s self-titled EP ‘Natalie Green is my Lover’ mainly for the same reasons as Sebastian, I think I took a lot of inspiration from the storytelling in this one as well as the way he plays with his vocals to create a distortion that sticks.

Finally, it has to be Choker’s first full-length album Peak. I don’t think I really put anything from that project into my own work, but that’s the one where I finally told myself “Fuck it, I need to start chasing my own dreams and telling my own stories” I’d say it’s more of a motivation rather than an inspiration.”

‘Grazes’ is available to listen in full below. If you’re left wanting more, which you probably will be, Extranjero says that there’s more stuff on the way. He says that he has a lot of unfinished demos from the Grazes project that he’d like to work on and gradually build into something bigger. Nino also has “a much more psychedelic project that’s almost ready” that takes a lot of inspiration “from alternative artists like Thundercat, Choker & Bakar.” Not to mention his “little collaboration group Peached Waves” with his close friend Erica.

“I want to get working on some new music for that soon. I guess you’ll just have to wait and see which comes first…”
